ProjectsThere are regular Gurmat Sangeet classes held at Guru Nanak Darbar Gurdwara Gravesend on Thursdays weekly from 6pm till 8pm by Ustad Bhai Sital Singh Ji Sitara. There are currently a large number of children and adults learning Gurmat Sangeet from the core through the Raags that the Guru Sahibs blessed us with.
There is also Youth Kirtan Darbars and Naam Simran programs held weekly on Saturday from 7pm till 9pm at Guru Nanak Darbar Gurdwara Gravesend where all the students get an opportunity to perform and recite what they have been taught. It is a humble request to all the Sangat to please send your children and come yourselves to learn Gurbani Kirtan because it is the highest in the Gurus House. In Gurbani, Guru Arjun Dev Ji blesses us with
‘Listening to the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises, and singing the Lord's Kirtan, misfortune shall not even come near you.’
So following the order of Guru Ji we should all listen to kirtan and try to learn kirtan.
Alongside holding Gurmat Sangeet classes there is regular Kirtan Darbars held by Kent Kirtan Society UK at Kent's Gurdwara Sahibs and many other Gurdwara Sahibs in the United Kingdom we take pride in inviting International Ragi Jathas and Kathavachaks to preach and recite Kirtan and Katha, this motivates the younger generation to come to the Gurdwara and start to walk on the path of Sikhi.
